It traces the family history from 19th Century Bessarabia to 20th Century America, introduces us to the Patriarch, Shmuel, and the Matriarch, Tova, and pulls no punches in presenting their journey from darkness, and hopefully, to light. Poverty, ant-Semitism, sibling rivalry, family love and dysfunction, this well written book has it all.
